December 17, 2008: Robyn Few storms Washington, D.C.
Each year SWOP chapters and other organizations around the world commemorate the International Day to End Violence Against sex workers on December 17. In 2008 Robyn pushed for a national rally in the US converging on Washington D.C. She offered to chain herself to a building or to be arrested. Neither of those things happened but scores of advocates did take to the streets marching from Franklin Square to the US Department of Justice building. The names of sex workers whose lives had been taken from us in 2008 were read during a solemn ceremony that included a "die-in." The video above is a montage of photos taken by PJ Starr with audio of Robyn and others talking and chanting during the event.
